From livestock breeders and crop farmers to schools, organized groups and families, the 2026 Nakuru National Show is set to welcome thousands to the Nakuru Showground this July after organizers officially unveiled the calendar for the five-day agricultural and trade exhibition.

The Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) has confirmed that the 2026 Nakuru National Show will be held from July 1 to July 5 at the Nakuru Showground, setting the stage for one of the country’s premier agricultural and trade events. The annual exhibition is expected to bring together farmers, agribusiness players, exhibitors, innovators, investors, learners and members of the public for five days of business engagement, agricultural learning and entertainment.

Organizers say the show will offer visitors an opportunity to explore agricultural innovation, modern farming technologies, trade and networking opportunities, as well as educational experiences designed to benefit farmers and entrepreneurs across various sectors. The event will also provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase products, services and emerging technologies aimed at improving productivity and sustainability within the agricultural sector.

The 2026 edition will be held under the theme, “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” reflecting the growing emphasis on environmentally sustainable farming practices and resilient agricultural systems. The theme is expected to guide discussions, exhibitions and demonstrations throughout the event as stakeholders seek solutions to challenges facing the sector.

Preparations for the show will begin weeks before the official opening. According to the programme released by ASK Nakuru Branch, exhibitors will attend a briefing on June 5, 2026, ahead of pre-show activities scheduled for June 29 and June 30. Trade judging will take place on June 30 before the exhibition officially opens its gates to the public on July 1.

The organizers have also outlined themed days that will target different groups of participants. July 1 has been designated as Business Day, focusing on commercial opportunities and networking. Farmers Day will be observed on July 2, while the official opening ceremony is scheduled for July 3. Members Day will follow on July 4 before the show concludes with Family Day on July 5, an occasion expected to attract large numbers of families and community groups.

Visitors can expect a wide range of agricultural exhibits covering livestock production, dairy farming, poultry keeping, sheep farming, horticulture, crop production and farm mechanization. Demonstrations of modern agricultural technologies and innovations are expected to feature prominently as farmers seek practical solutions to improve yields and adapt to changing climatic conditions.

Beyond agriculture, the show will offer a variety of entertainment activities aimed at creating a family-friendly atmosphere. Planned attractions include funfairs, performances by local artists, military band displays, music and theatrical performances, as well as amusement parks. These activities are expected to complement the educational and commercial aspects of the exhibition, making the event appealing to visitors of all ages.

ASK has announced gate entry charges of KSh300 for adults and KSh250 for children. Special rates will be available for organized groups and special parties, with adults paying KSh250 and children KSh200.

The society is also encouraging greater public participation through its membership programme. Membership categories include Executive Membership at KSh8,500, Full Membership at KSh3,000, Single Membership at KSh2,000, Armed Forces Membership at KSh800 and Young Farmers Club Membership at KSh400.

As preparations gather momentum, the Nakuru National Show is expected to once again serve as a key meeting point for farmers, businesses, researchers, government agencies and consumers. The event continues to play an important role in promoting agricultural development, supporting trade and creating opportunities for knowledge sharing across the sector.

Businesses, institutions and organizations planning to participate in the 2026 Nakuru National Show have been invited to an exhibitors’ briefing meeting scheduled for June 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Main Showground Pavilion, as preparations gather pace for the region’s premier agricultural and trade exhibition.
