Former Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) national chairperson Kahi Indimuli has declared his bid for the Vihiga governorship on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.

Indimuli announced his decision during a Pentecostal Assemblies of God prayer meeting in Mbale Town, aligning his candidature with President William Ruto’s ruling party.

He said he had already registered as a UDA gubernatorial aspirant, describing the party as the dominant political force ahead of the next general election.

“I want to publicly declare that I am vying for the Vihiga governor seat in a UDA ticket. I have already registered as an aspirant in the ruling party,” Indimuli said.

The former education lobby leader also pledged full support for President Ruto’s re-election, saying he would campaign vigorously for both his seat and the party.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who attended the event, told congregants that the President had continued to support the Pentecostal Assemblies of God in Kenya.

Mudavadi said the church had received Sh50 million pledged by the President during its centenary celebrations, in addition to a Sh1 million donation.

He urged residents to prioritise peace and voter registration, noting that thousands of eligible voters in Vihiga County were yet to enlist.

Mudavadi said the government was implementing development projects in the county, including affordable housing, markets, roads and hostels.

Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula said President Ruto remained unmatched politically ahead of the next election.

“Show me one person who has the political wit to beat the President? No one,” Savula said.
