Detectives have arrested a key suspect in a murder case reported earlier this month, recovering a firearm, ammunition, and a motorcycle believed to be linked to the crime.

The suspect, Peter Kimani Wachira, also known as “Kim,” was arrested on Saturday night along Gallole Street in Eastleigh, Nairobi, following an intelligence-led operation.

Police said the arrest followed investigations into a murder incident reported at Mowlem Police Station on December 11. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) units in Dandora and Shauri Moyo acted on fresh intelligence to track him down.

During the operation, officers recovered a Retay Falcon P.A.K pistol, one round of live ammunition, and a spent cartridge. A red Boxer motorcycle, registration number KMGT 530S, suspected to be stolen and linked to the murder, was also seized.

Wachira is being held in custody and is expected to be arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts on Monday to face murder charges under Sections 203 and 204 of the Penal Code.
