The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has postponed its Phase III grassroots elections in Nakuru County by two weeks to avoid a clash with the Safari Rally Kenya.

In a notice, the party’s National Elections Board (NEB) said the elections, which had been scheduled for Saturday, March 14, will now take place on Saturday, March 28.

The board said the change was necessary because the county will be hosting the Safari Rally Kenya, part of the World Rally Championship, between March 12 and March 15.

“This adjustment is in consideration of the hosting and participation of the Safari Rally Kenya, part of the World Rally Championship (WRC), scheduled for 12th March to 15th March 2026,” said NEB chairman Anthony Mwaura.

According to the notice, the repeat grassroots elections will now be conducted on March 28. The board asked party officials and aspirants in the county to adjust their plans in line with the new date.

He added that all UDA leaders, members and candidates in Nakuru County were kindly requested to take note of this change and make the necessary arrangements.

Last week, the NEB postponed its Repeat Phase III grassroots elections following the death of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, pushing the exercise in affected counties by at least a week.

The elections form part of UDA’s nationwide grassroots exercise to choose party officials across various levels and also build the party’s leadership structure from the grassroots as it reorganises and strengthens its internal political machinery.
