Deal-making, brand visibility and market expansion will take centre stage this week when Bizlink Trade Expo (BTeXPO) opens its doors at Rift Valley Sports Club in Nakuru City.
The three-day exhibition, running from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th, brings together manufacturers, banks, Saccos, institutions, fashion brands and players in hospitality and tourism among others.
Organiser Namai Joseph said the focus of this 5th edition is on creating a marketplace where enterprises can connect directly with customers, partners and prospective investors.
“So far, we have 60 bookings. We are looking forward to 70 by tomorrow which we are looking at 100. So, suppose we get the numbers to 100 that will be good,” he said during a briefing at the venue.
The theme, he said, “Connecting markets, driving enterprise growth,” signals an emphasis on practical linkages between suppliers, financiers and consumers under one roof.
Organisers said they expect between 6,000 and 10,000 visitors over three days, adding that entry will be free through online and on-site registration to boost exhibitor traffic.
Namai said exhibitions revolve around exposure, future partnerships and potential sales, noting exhibitors primarily seek brand visibility, business prospects and commercial returns from participation.
“It is a platform that is bringing new ideas, new businesses, and it’s a good platform for us to come and network, see what is coming in this region because most people go even to China to see these kinds of platforms,” he stated.
The programme includes a youth conference on Thursday morning, with more than 500 young people invited for mentorship and exposure to established entrepreneurs.
Organisers have erected a reinforced airframe structure to cushion against unexpected weather changes and expanded parking spaces around the venue, including areas at the front, rear and sides.
The County Government of Nakuru has confirmed support for the event and have waived licences, alongside the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with other leaders expected to attend.
Sponsors include Bloom Hospital, Top Gas and Hermosa Paints, with organisers indicating that more corporate partners are expected to come on board ahead of the official opening.
Silla Ooko, Corporate Relations officer at Bloom Hospital, said the facility will showcase its specialist medical services and highlight the Bloom Mama maternal programme during the expo.
“The world class specialist will be here on that day,” she said, inviting residents to engage the facility’s team during the expo, while describing Nakuru as a supportive investment environment.
