Veteran entertainment and social scene journalist, John Muchiri has praised event professional Zaheeda Suleman for what he described as top-notch organization during last weekend’s Solfest.
In a commentary reflecting on the festival, Muchiri credited Zaheeda and her team at The BE Experience Company for ensuring a smooth experience for revelers, from logistics and crowd management to security and artist coordination.
“Let’s give credit where it’s due,” Muchiri said as he highlighted the behind-the-scenes work that contributed to the event’s success.
He noted that although Sauti Sol headlined the festival, the execution relied heavily on trusted professionals tasked with delivering the vision on the ground.
Zaheeda, the founder of The BE Experience Company, led the overall coordination of the event, overseeing parking arrangements, access to the venue, crowd control, security at entry points and emergency response systems.
Muchiri said Zaheeda is a well-known figure in the events industry, with a long track record dating back to her years at Safaricom, where she worked on major sponsored events including Groove Awards, Safaricom Live and the Lewa Marathon under the leadership of the late Bob Collymore.
“She was the kind of person where if you wanted to find out something and asked the main organizers, they would tell you, ‘Ngoja kidogo wacha niulize Zaheeda,’” he said.
After leaving Safaricom, Zaheeda founded The BE Experience Company, which has since handled high-profile events such as the Bob Collymore International Jazz Festival, the Tatu City launch, the MTN Uganda Leadership Summit and Airtel Kenya’s 5G launch.
Muchiri said Solfest was another demonstration of Zaheeda‘s ability to deliver large-scale events through coordination with multiple suppliers and technical teams.
