The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has opened registration for aspirants seeking to contest on its ticket in the 2027 General Election.

In a notice dated January 21, the ruling party invited qualified members interested in vying for elective seats to register through its online portal.

The party said the aspirants’ forum will design mechanisms for free, fair and transparent nominations ahead of the polls.

“The application portal will be officially open from Wednesday, January 21, 2026,” said Anthony Mwaura, the UDA National Elections Board chairman.

The party has set non-refundable fees ranging from Sh2,000 for ward representatives to Sh100,000 for presidential aspirants.

Those eyeing parliamentary seats—MP, Senator and Woman Representative—will pay Sh5,000 each. Gubernatorial hopefuls will part with Sh10,000.

All registered aspirants will attend a forum on February 4 at State House, Nairobi, where they are expected to meet President William Ruto, the party leader.

The move signals the start of intense political activity as parties position themselves for the 2027 contest.

UDA, which rode to power in the 2022 elections, is keen to consolidate its support base across the country ahead of the next electoral cycle.

The party has also announced repeat grassroots elections in polling centres that recorded low voter turnout during earlier party polls.

Registration for the repeat elections closes on February 21, with voting scheduled for March 7 and March 28.

Payment can be made via M-Pesa paybill number 888092 or direct bank deposit to UDA’s Equity Bank account.
