Gospel artist Esther Musila has vowed to hit back at online bullies, declaring she will no longer stay silent when attacked.

Her warning comes after outspoken secular singer Akothee urged her to respond forcefully to critics instead of ignoring them.

In a facebook message addressed to Musila, Akothee dismissed calls for restraint.

“An eye for an eye. Nowadays karma takes too long to respond. Insult whoever insults you,” she wrote.

She told Musila not to allow fans to “test how far they can go” and advised her to confront critics directly.

“Let no one tell you to ignore. In fact, just choose one from the many and go all the way,” she added.

Musila appeared to take up the challenge.

For years, she said, she had been told to be the bigger person and protect her name by staying quiet.

“Enough was enough. Insult me now and I will retaliate and you will not dictate to me how I respond to your abuse,” she wrote.

She said bullies should not decide the level of defence their targets choose.

“I will NEVER be a victim of anyone’s bullying,” Musila added. “You will not bully me for my life choices.”

Musila, who has often faced criticism over her personal life on social media, said she minds her own business and does not interfere in others’ affairs.

She questioned why victims are pressured to remain silent while aggressors continue unchecked.

“If the focus was on the people who bully others for nothing, not the bullied, we’d change the narrative,” she said.

The exchange has stirred debate online, with some supporting her decision to speak out and others urging restraint.

Musila says 2026 will mark a different approach.

“If I have to be the only soldier in my army, I will be,” she wrote.
