St Joseph’s Youth FC is seeking financial support from well-wishers to facilitate their away match against Bungoma Superstars this weekend, as they look to maintain their promotion push in the FKF Division One League.

The Nakuru-based side needs KSh 12,000 to cover transportation costs for the trip to Bungoma, highlighting the financial challenges facing lower-tier clubs despite their on-field success.

The club has urged supporters to send contributions via mobile money to 0712 077 458 (Hamisi), emphasizing that every contribution, no matter how small, will help ensure the team travels safely and on time.

“Let’s stand with the team and push St Joseph’s to victory,” reads the club’s statement released on social media.

St Joseph’s FC are currently enjoying a strong campaign in the FKF Division One League, showing clear signs of a club on the rise.

After 11 matches, the Afraha Stadium-based side sit fourth on the log with 18 points, having registered five wins so far this season.

This marks a major turnaround from last season, where they finished 12th with 24 points and spent much of the campaign battling relegation.

The improvement has been fueled by key new signings and renewed ambition, with St Joseph’s now firmly in the race for promotion to the National Super League.

The team’s performances this season reflect a hunger to restore the club to its rightful place among Kenya’s competitive football sides.

St Joseph’s also boasts a proud history of producing and nurturing top talent that has gone on to shine at the highest levels.

Notable alumni include national team defender David “Calabar” Owino, who featured for Gor Mahia and Zesco United of Zambia, lethal striker Moses Arita, and Kenyan Premier League all-time top scorer Elvis “Machapo” Rupia with 27 goals.

The club has also produced former Kakamega Homeboyz left-back Erick Ambunya, former Mathare United and Bandari goalkeeper Michael Wanyika, and former Harambee Stars shot-stopper Evans “Jadu” Omondi.

The club’s influence is still evident in the Kenyan Premier League, with defender Fredrick Odhiambo and winger Leonlevitt Otieno currently at Ulinzi Stars, while Kariobangi Sharks are home to midfielder Ngume and defender Kevin Luke Otiala.

With strong league form, emerging talent, and a rich football heritage, St Joseph’s FC are determined to bounce back to the glory days that once made them a Nakuru football powerhouse.

The club’s appeal for financial support underscores the reality that many lower-tier teams face as they balance sporting ambitions with limited resources.

As they push relentlessly for promotion and long-term success, St Joseph’s will be hoping their supporters rally behind them to ensure the team can honor all their fixtures for the remainder of the season.
