Chrisco Academy has posted a strong performance in the newly released Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results, emerging well above national expectations.
The school achieved an impressive mean score of 80.19 percent, which places it in the Exceeding Expectations (EE 2) band under the KJSEA grading system.
The new KJSEA uses performance bands instead of rankings, assessing competencies as Kenya transitions to a competency-based system for junior learners.
Performance is categorized into four bands: Exceeding Expectations, Meeting Expectations, Approaching Expectations, and Below Expectations, across nine learning areas.
Principal and Managing Director, Ms Elizabeth Kamotho said the results reflect years of hard work, dedication, and teamwork.
Half of the learners at Chrisco Academy scored in the Exceeding Expectations band, while the remainder achieved Meeting Expectations and higher.
“We are pleased to note that half of our learners scored EE, while the rest attained ME, all the way to the last student,” she stated in a communication to parents.
The school’s top student scored 70 out of 72 possible points, securing a strong EE. Kamotho said the school is committed to maintaining and even surpassing this performance in future years.
“We sincerely thank God for His grace, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Board of Management, teachers, and parents,” she said.
Under this system, results are based on an eight-point scale, where higher points indicate stronger achievement.
The shift to KJSEA marks a significant reform in Kenya’s education system as learners transition into senior school pathways such as STEM, Social Sciences, or Arts and Sports.
Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba announced that 1,130,459 learners sat for the 2025 KJSEA and that all would transition to secondary schools along their career pathways.
Ogamba further revealed that placement to Senior Schools will begin next week and end by December 20, 2025, ahead of reporting on January 12, 2026.
To check results online, visit the Ministry’s selection portal at selection.education.go.ke/my-selections and enter the learner’s assessment number in the required field.
If you don’t have internet access, you can use the SMS option. To get a learner’s selected schools via SMS, send the assessment number to 22263. Each message costs Sh30.
Learners must enter their assessment number and any one of their registered names as used during the 2025 KJSEA registration.
