Renowned Nakuru philanthropist Rani Ramchandani is mourning the passing of her mother-in-law, Maya Atmaram Ramchandani, who died on Saturday, June 7, at the age of 89.

Maya was the devoted wife of the late Atmaram Ramchandani Lilaram, a prominent Nakuru businessman who passed away on June 24, 1995.

She was a beloved mother to Mohan Ramchandani, Dama Dale, Asha Lakhani, Naina Patel, Shammi Ramchandani, Ashok Ramchandani, Mahesh Ramchandani, and Rajshri Patel.

She was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of her extended family and all who knew her.

The family described her as a vibrant spirit, deeply devoted to her loved ones, and remembered for a legacy of love and compassion.

In a funeral announcement, Rani said the funeral will take place on Monday, June 9.

“A kirtan will be held at the residence of the late Maya Ramchandani, Shah Estate House No. 30, Nakuru, starting at 10:00 a.m.,” she said.

The cortege will then proceed to the Sikh Temple for a cremation ceremony at 11:00 a.m., followed by prayers and lunch.

The family also extended its heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kennedy Gogo for what Rani described as “compassionate support and dedicated care” during her mother’s final days.

“She will be deeply missed by our family and by all who knew and had the privilege of meeting her,” Rani said.
