Governor Susan Kihika has urged all United Democratic Alliance (UDA) members in Nakuru County to turn out in large numbers and take part in the party’s grassroots elections scheduled for this weekend.

The party’s National Elections Board (NEB) said the elections, which had been scheduled for Saturday, March 14, would now take place on Saturday, March 28, as Nakuru was hosting the WRC Safari Rally at that time.

Previously, in a notice dated March 2, the NEB said the repeat Phase III polls slated for March 7 would now be held on March 14 following the death of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno.

The Governor said that taking part in the elections would ensure members exercise their democratic rights and actively participate in shaping leadership at the grassroots level.

She was speaking at her Milimani office when she met the UDA Nakuru County Returning Officer (CRO), Martha Wahome, and her team to review the party’s preparedness ahead of Saturday’s elections.

“The team confirmed that all systems are in place to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible process,” she stated, adding that the exercise would strengthen the party’s governance structures ahead of next year’s elections.

She acknowledged the exceptional performance of the party during the recent by-elections across the country, where the party won all the contested seats, and promised even better outcomes in the 2027 elections.
