The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has announced the resignation of its Director General, Eng. Philemon Kandie, MBS, effective today, July 11, 2025.

In a formal resignation letter addressed to the KeRRA Board Chairman, Mr. Anthony Ng’ang’a Mwaura, Eng. Kandie cited his decision to step down from the position, giving a three-month notice with his last day set for October 10, 2025.

 He also indicated his intention to proceed on a 45-day annual leave starting July 14, 2025. Also expressed gratitude to the Board for their support during his tenure.

 “I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Board of KeRRA for the support and incredible journey throughout my tenure. I wish everyone in the team much success in the years to come,” he stated.

In a swift response, the KeRRA Board, in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Roads and Transport, effectively appointed Eng. Jackson K. Magnadu, the current Director of Planning, Design, and Environment, as the Acting Director General.

“The Board of Directors would like to appreciate the outgoing Director General for his invaluable service and contribution to the Authority,” KeRRA acknowledged Eng. Kandie’s contributions

Eng. Kandie was appointed as Director General in April 2022 on a five-year contract set to end in April 2027. The reasons for his early resignation remain undisclosed.
