Kenya Kwanza leaders have renewed attacks on the opposition after their strong showing in the recent by-elections, accusing rival camps of promoting “politics of hate and division.”

During a fundraiser in Kipkelion East, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula and Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot said the results reflected growing confidence in the Kenya Kwanza administration and signalled momentum for President William Ruto’s 2027 bid.

Wetang’ula said voters had rejected negative politics.

“Tribal politics and insults have no place in our society,” he said, arguing that the opposition lacks a clear agenda.

Cheruiyot called the opposition “the most ineffective in Kenya’s history,” saying they stand little chance in 2027. Kipkelion West MP Hillary Kosgei added that attempts to derail Ruto’s leadership had failed.

The leaders also criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former CS Justin Muturi over violence reported during the Mbeere by-election, urging persuasion over intimidation.

They dismissed recent attacks by Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya as “immature politics,” warning he would face a “bruising battle” in 2027.

Kenya Kwanza leaders praised President Ruto’s development record, highlighting affordable housing, the fertilizer subsidy, the revamped medical insurance scheme and the new Rironi–Nakuru–Mau Summit dual carriageway.

They used the event to rally support for Ruto’s re-election, saying the opposition relies on division instead of offering solutions.
