Moi Comprehensive Primary School headteacher Mrs Caroline Chebbe has formally handed over the institution’s leadership to Mrs Valentine Ochieng, marking a transition school stakeholders said was conducted peacefully and without disruption to academic and administrative operations.

The handover process was witnessed by members of the school board and Parents Association chairperson Mr Peter Kariuki, who attended the ceremony as part of efforts to ensure accountability, transparency and continuity within the management structure of the institution.

According to a communication issued to class representatives, Mrs Chebbe’s exit followed personal consultations with her family, with school stakeholders emphasizing that the decision was voluntary and reached amicably after internal discussions involving relevant education leadership structures.

Mr Kariuki said the transition reflected cooperation among administrators, parents and board members, adding that the institution remained stable during the changeover period and would continue operating normally under the incoming administration led by Mrs Ochieng.

“Madam Carol has been a great Headteacher and leader, and I am certain she will continue to excel and perform exceptionally well wherever she goes,” the Parents Association chairman said in the communication circulated to parents.

Stakeholders credited Chebbe with helping sustain the school’s academic reputation and institutional culture during her tenure, noting that the systems established under her administration would continue guiding operations even after the leadership transition concluded officially.

Moi Primary School is regarded among Nakuru’s established public primary institutions, with parents and education stakeholders often closely monitoring leadership changes because of their influence on discipline, learning continuity and general administrative performance within schools.

School representatives further indicated that Mrs Ochieng from Kaptembwa Primary School assumes office amid expectations that the institution will preserve its academic standards, maintain stability and strengthen collaboration between parents, teachers and administrators responsible for learners’ welfare and performance.

“We thank God for guiding the entire process, because He always has a way for all of us even when at times it may appear there is none,” Mr Kariuki stated while addressing representatives.

However, some parents have questioned the unexpected transfer, arguing that Mrs Chebbe had significantly improved discipline and overall academic performance at the school. They expressed concern that the leadership transition could affect institutional stability, classroom learning, staff morale, financial accountability and parental confidence.

Parents’ leaders urged class representatives and parents to remain focused on supporting the school’s long term development agenda, saying cooperation among stakeholders would remain essential in sustaining progress achieved under previous administrations at the institution.

“The standards and culture of Moi Primary School shall remain high and will become even better under our collective watch,” the parents’ chairman added, expressing confidence in continued collaboration between parents, teachers and the school’s new administration.
